Until 1873 Budapest did not exist, only Buda and Pest. But, it was in 1873 that the cities united and Budapest became a city. This caused tourism to boom, and lots of hotels, coffee houses, and restaurants were built. But, that wasn’t enough. Budapest needed a magnificent opera building, and based on the drawings of Miklos Ybl, the Hungarian States Opera was finished in 1884. Many famous people have been in the opera building, including Giacomo Puccini. It is said to have one of the best acoustics in Europe, and the interior is stunning.

The inside of the Hungarian State Opera is like stepping into a magical world of music and beauty. Imagine a grand and elegant space with high ceilings and sparkling chandeliers. The walls are adorned with intricate decorations, and plush red velvet seats fill the auditorium, arranged in a way that everyone can see and enjoy the performances.

The stage is the centerpiece, and it’s big and impressive. It’s where talented singers, dancers, and musicians bring stories to life through their performances. The orchestra pit, located just in front of the stage, is where the musicians play the beautiful music that fills the entire opera house.

As you look around, you’ll notice the attention to detail in the architecture, from the majestic balconies to the ornate carvings. The overall atmosphere is one of sophistication and history, as the Hungarian State Opera has been a home for incredible performances for many years.
