Wine festival between September 10th and 14th in 2014

Wine tastingThe International Wine festival which is arranged every year in the Buda castle area will be arranged between September 10th and 14th in 2014. If you are in the mood for tasting Hungarian wine, then this is the number 1 festival in Hungary for that purpose.

At the festival you can taste somewhere between 4000 and 5000 different Hungarian wines, so no need to worry, you will have plenty of things to taste and to do if you decide to stay at the festival for five days. Of course you will need to sleep at some other location, but you can come when the doors open to the festival at 12.00 or 14.00 every day and stay until it closes! Enjoy the festival!

This is a cool marathon with thousands of competitors every year. Lots of the partakes come from Budapest and Hungary, while quite some thousand are tourists coming to town combining pleasure and joy with running. Water Polo championship in Budapest

Starting today and lasting until July 27th the European Water Polo championship will be arranged in Budapest at the Margaret Island.

The best nations in Europe will gather together for this tournament, and of course Hungary will be present both among the women and among the men. Luckily we are better in Water Polo than in football, so the Hungarians will have the chance to win the European Championship, both among the men and the women.

As we already wrote in our previous articles, we can not imagine a boring summer in Hungary. There are lots of programs we can choose from either in Budapest or in other smaller towns in Hungary.

If we just want to have a nice summer holiday in Hungary, but we are not really interested in festivals and the nightlife of Hungary, because we are traveling with family, Hungary is still a perfect get away for those who love long, warm days with a perfect summer weather, restaurants and bars! This festival is truly one of the best and most popular one in Hungary! Festival season starts with Volt festival generally in the beginning of July. Visitors are welcome from 2nd July until 6th of July. There is an extra day, the warm up day on 1st of July. The festival takes place in Sopron which is a small city just right to the Austrian border, 220 kms from Budapest the capital of Hungary. Until 16th June you can get your tickets on discount. You can have VIP tickets so you can enjoy the live party and concerts from the VIP grand stand and have all the access to the VIP area, you can buy single day tickets and 5 days and 4 days pass too and if it was not enough you can even combine your Balaton Sound tickets with your Volt Festival tickets too. This year like all the other years there are plenty of worldwide known artists and bands, not only foreigners but you can also enjoy the Hungarian bands performances as well. Balaton Sound: Another cool festival in Hungary

A summer in Hungary is always impossible to be boring. In fact there are many possibilities to enjoy the long, warm days in this country. During the Hungarian summers there are plenty of programs, concerts and festivals to choose from.

In the previous article we already mentioned the Sziget Festival, which takes place in Budapest the capital of Hungary. However this is not the only festival we can attend. The one i want to write about is Balaton Sound.

There are more than 5 festivals during the summers in Hungary and one of the most popular one of course is Balaton Sound. This festival will be held in Zamàrdi, which is a little Hungarian city just next to Lake Balaton. Usually the festival is around the first weeks of July, this year Balaton Sound opens its gates on 10th July until 13th July. One of the best things about the festival, not only the famous artist and bands performing on stage or the whole night long parties with the best music, but during the hot days you can easily just cool yourself down in one of Europe biggest lake. This year’s announced bands and artist are for example David Guetta, who has been to Balaton Sound before already, Martin Garrix or Maya Jane Coles.

Sziget Festival, the island of freedom

Hungary has some really good festivals during summers. Probably the most popular one is Sziget fesztivál which is always held in the beginning of August every year since 1993. This year Sziget will take place on August 11th-18th in the Hungarian capital Budapest! If you never visited Budapest before it is a really good opportunity to go and spend an amazing time in this beautiful city during the festival.

The festival will be held on the beautiful island (Hajógyári sziget, that is why the name Sziget) in the very heart of Budapest. Sziget provides non stop party, lot of live concerts with worldwide known artists and bands. The festival attracts around 400,000 people from all around the world. There are not only concerts during the festival, but Sziget gives you a real festival feeling with many other cultural programs like theater, circus and other venues as well.

Deep Purple concert in Budapest

Deep Purple BudapestWe have great news for classic rock music fans, because the popular band Deep Purple will give a concert at one of the biggest stadium in the Hungarian capital, the Papp László Budapest Sport Arena at 17 February 2014!

The Deep Purple formed in 1968 in United Kingdom, but they had an almost 10 year break from 1976. They re-formed in 1984 and they are still very successful. The members are Ian Gillan singer, Steve Morse guitarist, Roger Glover bass guitar player, Don Airey pianist and Ian Paice drummer. During their career, they sold 100 million albums in worldwide, and they was added to Guinness World Record Book as the loudest rock band. Fortunately the Deep Purple relatively often visits Hungary, they have been here 10 times since 1987, and the last occasion was last summer at Fezen Festival. Their concert in February is going to be the 11th time when they welcome their friends on Hungarian stage, and it could be a great occasion for you too, to see the probably best concert in 2014 in Budapest.

The extra in this Deep Purple concert is, the band what will play before the legends is an emerging Hungarian rock and roll band, the Ivan and the Parazol! If you like the hot rock music, what brings you back to the atmosphere of 60s and 70s, you won’t be disappointed. Moreover Parazol’s songs are in English, so you wouldn’t worry about language differences either.

Wedding exhibition in Budapest

We would like to talk about a fantastic exhibition what you can see in Hungary, exactly in the capital, Budapest between 1 and 2 February 2014. Naturally this is the Wedding Exhibition, what is organized for the 10th time at Papp László Budapest Sport Arena.

The place has lots of advantages for the exhibiting companies and visitors as well, because the territory’s size is very important. The wedding exhibition’s main audience is the family. Visitors can delight in fantastic dresses and accessories, and get great ideas. The exhibited objects are perfect for weddings and balls too. Naturally you don’t have to have somebody in your family or friend team, who want to marry or have prom, because if you love beautiful things, this exhibition would be perfect for you. Moreover, the accessories can steal anybody’s heart, even if they don’t want to escort you to the exhibition. Christmas market at Széll Kálmán Square

When holidays are coming, Budapest becomes full with lights. The capital of Hungary really can do Christmas atmosphere, and the best proof is that people run into several advent markets in different points of the city. The most popular is the one at Vörösmarty Square, but besides it, you can find fantastic Christmas markets at Kálvin Square and Széll Kálmán Square as well. We would like to talk about the last one.

Széll Kálmán Square is one of the busiest places at the Buda side of the capital. This square is one final station of the tram number 4 and 6, what have lots of stops on the whole Grand Boulevard. Besides it you can reach it with metro number 2, what also have lots of stations in the whole center city.

Christmas market at Moszkva terSellers usually open their stands at early forenoon, and they close at early evening. Their products are so varied: you can buy handmade objects, sweets, little presents and clothes. However it is not one of the greatest Christmas markets, there is large selection and good atmosphere, so we offer everybody to visit the Christmas market at Széll Kálmán Square. Who knows? The big Christmas market at Vörösmarty tér will only open tomorrow, but there are of course many more markets available in Budapest. One such market is located at Kalvin tér.

The market at Kalvin square has already been opened, so we visited the market earlier tonight. It is not the biggest one, but for those who visit Christmas markets to eat chimney cake, drink hot wine, eat sausage and maybe some bread langos or real langos, this market has it all (but not so much more). So, not the biggest market, but very cose and nice, not to crowded, and with cheaper prices than at the big market at the Vörösmarty square.
