Volt Festival
The Volt Festival is the annual festival arranged in Sopron, Hungary. Sopron is a city on the border to Austria, and every year thousands upon thousands of people come to take part in the festival. This festival is also the start of the Hungarian party-summer, being the first big festival, followed by Balaton Sound, and then the giant Sziget Festival.
Back in 2007, the festival had around 70,000 visitors. That number is, however, increasing from year to year, and in 2019, the festival had more than 140,000 paid visitors.
According to the Volt Festival homepage, the festival is “one of the most exciting multicultural festivals in Central Europe, expecting its guests in the middle of a fabulous forest every July. Four days long, visitors are welcome with 15 stages and approximately 200 programs: concerts, DJ’s, theater shows, performances, intimate cafes, pubs, restaurants.“
Sopron is also a magnificent city, so you better spend some hours walking around in the city center, and if you want to take a swim, you could even consider crossing the border to Austria to enjoy one of the so-called Schwim-bad, awesome places for swimming, jumping, and having some fun hours in the water.
