Szentendre is the cosy city around 30km from Budapest with around 25,000 inhabitants. Due to its very special history, the city has an interesting mixture of nationalities living there, which has given the city a very special atmosphere. This atmosphere has inspired many artists and has given birth to many galleries. In Szentendre you can also enjoy lots of museums (the Marcipan Museum and the Margit Kovács museum are probably the most popular), and there are good opportunities for wine tasting and tasting of good food. Szentendre is an ideal place to go if you would like to see another side of Hungary and not only the image Budapest gives.

We really enjoyed our trip to Szentendre. Our guide was charming, fluent in at least 3 languages and very knowledgeable. It was interesting to see the Roman remains on the way. The food and shopping were great and the wine tasting excellent, thanks to our host, who had a great sense of humour! There just wasn’t enough time for everything.
