Karpatia is a well-known tourist restaurant located by the Ferenciek Square, in the center of Budapest. Every evening they have live gipsy-music, and Karpatia is very proud of their Goulash Soup. They also offer their guests other traditional hungarian courses as the Hortohagyi Pancake, Veal “pörkölt” and Stuffed cabbage. Among the deserts you can find “rétes” variations and “Champagne cream cake”.
In the restaurant you can enjoy live gipsy music, and the band knows lots of different songs and melodies so if you tell them where you come from, it might be that they will play something for your nation!

The food was expertly prepared and presented in a very professional manner. The wine list was comprehensive and highlighted Hungarian wines. Gypsy music was robust and entertaining, but may be a little loud for those looking for a quiet evening.
it was a nice experience, the music was comfortable and we got to taste nice Hungarian specialities! So a visit to Karpátia can be recommend for those who want a nice Hungarian experience, in a traditional environment and at a central location.
